I need ideas for where I can meet up with a friend who is driving down from Baltimore. We haven't seen each other in a while and want to just sit and talk while we eat, and not be disturbed with constant table service.
Panera? Anything slightly better that comes to mind? TIA! |
| Where in DC are you? |
| OP here - I'm in upper NW, open to surrounding MoCo or other burbs. College Park, SS, etc |
| Bethesda has a lot of places— tout de sweet if you just want coffee and dessert, or maman or tatte should work (altho I don’t remember what the indoor seating at tatte is like) |
| Zinnia in the old Mrs. K's space on Colesville Road would be cozy, quiet, and very convenient if your friend wanted to take 29 down from the western edge of B'more. Not sure where they'd be coming from, but it's the sanest route to close-in MoCo from western or northern Baltimore suburbs. |
| Something in Bowie town center? downtown Laurel? Baltimore really isn’t that far away. |
| I would look in Laurel, Ellicott City, or Columbia. Also, the Common Kitchen in Clarksville is a food hall so it's easy to sit and linger, and you can try different foods. |
+1 I had a friend in California visiting Hopkins with her kid and we met up at Victoria Gastro Pub in Columbia. It was really good. |
I’ve done this as a meetup spot as well. |
| Guinness factory. It's kinda fun. |
| G&M |
|
columbia mall has cheesecake factory and seasons 52. a couple other more casual but a step above Panera.
maple lawn/fulton has a handful of nicer places. it is a little south of columbia. |
| Elliott City. |
| I recently had a very nice brunch here: https://www.ironbridgewines.com/ in Columbia |
| The Hub Asian food hall in Catonsville. |
