| How do I get my dog into modeling? I’m dead serious. I get compliments on her daily on our walks so why not take advantage? She’s 3 so not a puppy but cute as can be. I see dogs on magazine covers and she’s even cuter than those. |

| My dog got scouted on Instagram. She signed with an agency. She's done two print jobs. One of her friends was in a movie. |
| Another vote for Instagram. Make her an account if you don't already have one and start following a bunch of other dog accounts, build your following, etc. One of my good friends has her two dogs signed on with an agency all from her IG posts. She started posting on her dog-specific breed's Facebook groups, gained a following and took it to IG. Now those dogs are sponsored & doing collabs and she's making very good money on her girls! |
She is very distinct so I don’t want to out myself on DCUM! |
| People seriously have instagram accounts for their dog?? |
| I saw an ad that Pack Leashes needs dog models. I didn’t click on the as but check out the IG page. |
My dog is on Instagram. We barely post and twice we’ve gotten comments from a company asking us to “collab.” I assumed it was a scam and deleted the comments. I have no idea how you’d get your dog legitimate modeling jobs. Lots of dogs are cute. Does your dog follow commands? Will she cooperate during a photo shoot? |
I never used Instagram until I got my dog. Everyone was asking me to send photos all the time so I started one to make it easier to share them. I don’t use hashtags or do anything to gain followers but she has about 12K. I follow about 3K accounts, all other dogs. |
| You don’t, animal trainers in the industry acquire dogs and train them then those dogs get used in photos and movies. |

There is a local talent agent for dogs in southern Maryland. Your dog has to have stellar temperament and obedience, to the point where you can teach a new behavior in 10 min when the director changes his mind. Dog needs to be comfortable in pressure filled situations (camera in the face, strange people, hot lights, you far away off camera).
Companies will send a request to the agent for “small dog to work with child” or “bully type dog to leap into water for ball” and if you meet the criteria they’ll send your resume. Once you get one job the rest are easier—they tend to hire dogs who have already been screen tested. |
Depends. For a movie like air bud where the dog IS the movie, yes. For a cameo on a tv episode where the guy is just walking the dog through the park? Or a print ad? No, those are just average training enthusiasts—pets with lots of tricks or training. |
There are almost as many pet accounts as people accounts. |
| It’s more about temperament than anything. All dogs are cute. Even the ugly ones. |
| How much money is in this? |
