Dominion Fertility

Had a consult with DF.
Felt that I was being pushed for DE (it’s dang expensive!). We said we wanted to do one last cycle with OE. He didn’t seem very happy, and clammed down when we asked for info on protocols, and changes if any. Previously, he said we won’t be using bcp for the stims, today he wasn’t giving any details.
Other than being told my AMH was great for my age (3.0 for 43-44 yr age group), we were given cryptic replies. I know he isn’t exactly great with bedside manners, and this isn’t our first consult with him but this one was way colder 😅

Anyway, my question is- what difference does dropping the bcp make during stims? Any reasons/studies done on whether dropping them makes a difference of any kind? If you an share your
experiences, that’d be great!
Thanks in advance!

I did a stim cycle last February at Dominion and another one at CCRM last May. No BCP in either cycle. However, Dr. Kay at Dominion had me do a Lupron Stop protocol that majorly delayed my period, and ultimately resulted in massive oversuppression so I only had 3 eggs retrieved. CCRM didn't do any priming/suppression and we got 10 eggs.

Does BCP=birth control pill?

My successful cycle had no birth control pills and was an estrogen priming cycle.
The first try was a traditional IVF with BCP. Only 1 egg was retrieved. The 2nd try had no BCP with estrogen priming and I got 5 eggs, one of which made a good embryo. I was in my mid 30's

Another protocol for diminished ovarian reserves is the lupron flare.
