Help: need to bring an appetizer to a party

Anonymous
DH's friend is having a barbecue. His friend is grilling some meat. He asked people to bring things. He asked DH to bring an appetizer.

DH is thinking of bringing couscous. This is a side IMO not an appetizer.

Agree?
Any suggestions? He will buy the item instead of cooking.

Some kind of dip and pita chips, crackers or the like.

First party?

A tray of cut up veggies, dip, and a bag of pretzels.

Fancy mini hot dogs or those onion and goat cheese pastry puffs that nearly every supermarket has in their freezer section.

Deviled eggs

Couscous is not an appetizer. Loved the deviled eggs idea!

Pillsbury crescent dough sheet. Roll out on cookie sheet and bake per directions. Once cooled, spread herbs cream cheese over it. Cut into bite size pieces and top each piece with a single veggie (I use a slice of carrot, half a cherry tomato, a raw broccoli florets, or a slice of cucumber). I usually use at least 3 different veggies for variety and because it looks pretty.

Super simple - 20 min of work overall.

Let him bring what he wants. Why are you micro managing? Who cares if it’s app or side.

This is way too much work and doesn't sound like it tastes good. Who wants to dip their veggies in cream cheese?
