What methodology does FCCPS use to teach reading?

| My husband is dyslexic, so there is a 50% chance either of our children will be as well. The approach to teaching reading is important to us as we are considering future options for school/where to live. |

We were there the year the pandemic started for kindy. I remember my son had to memorize 140 sight words, he had flashcards and a checklist. Didn't seem to do a lot of phonics, or at least I never saw. It may have changed since then. We left the area during covid.
