Please post invites to CES or middle school criteria magnets

If you receive an invitation to these programs, can you post here just to let others know? It's not clear when the rejections will be sent out.

Middle school magnets should be mailed this month, but CES is not until Spring.

The middle school magnet page now says, "Update: Families of Grade 5 students should receive their student’s central review and lottery results by early February 2023. " It used to say mid-January.

UGH! Way to leave it until the last minute to tell us! Now the middle school and high school decisions will come out around the same time. That could be an issue in our house depending on how it pans out.

Ah just having to handle the emotions involved for two kids at the same time (I have a rising 6th grader and a rising 9th grader both hoping for magnet places). I was hoping there would be a buffer between them that the outcomes could be considered independently without the obvious additional disappointment if you didn’t get in that your sibling did, for example.

The email that just came out said that the results will be received in Late Jan / Early Feb

Son admitted to Eastern, got in the mail yesterday!

Son placed in the lottery for both magnets, didn’t get into either. I think we’re relieved because the commute would have been brutal but we might have felt compelled to try it out anyway.
