AP chemistry

My kid is in 10th taking Honors Chem. He claims it is super easy and boring because the teacher spends so much time with kids that don’t understand the math. His school doesn’t office regular chemistry. My kid wants to take AP Chemistry DP next year but I think he should take AP Bio DP. He wants to major in a STEM field in college, but not engineering. He will be taking AP Lang, AP Calc BC, AP Spanish and most likely Honors World History (already took APUSH and currently in AP Gov). Will he be prepared for AP Chem? Or should he take AP Bio 11th grade and then AP Physics 12th grade? I’m not sure if he is learning anything in Honors Chem. He does the minimum on homework but gets A’s on quizzes and tests. Teacher says he doesn’t pay attention and has had to take his phone away (this is not a problem in his other classes). Kid was able to maintain a low A Q1 and currently a high B for Q2 because he knows he will get an A this semester. Does anyone have a kid that didn’t transition well to AP Chem?

It's not like AP Bio is an easy class! If he is interested in chemistry, I'd let him take chemistry.

I don’t think AP bio is easy but it is more memorization. But the pass rate for AP Chem is lower and based on googling— a harder class.
