We're heading over to RFK Stadium for the "truck touch" event tomorrow and wondering what food options are around there. We'll have two toddlers along and no car. I'm looking at map and don't see a lot. |
No I don't think there is much that is "walkable" from there with toddlers. Probably there will be food vendors there -- stadium food type stuff which is over-priced and high in fat but is popular with kids. You could stop at Eastern Market metro (two stops away) where there are a lot of restaurants. |
That's what I figured, but thought maybe I was missing something. Thanks! |
You also don't want to be walking around the neighborhoods around RFK - very rough. Stick to stadium food. |
when i went 2 years ago, nobody was selling food of any kind. |
The pupusa lady sells pretty good food. Dunno if she'll be there for a truck thing, but she is there for soccer. |
btw, if you're looking for an easy place to stop where there's not likely to be a line for a table, NY Pizza across Penn from the Potomac Ave metro area (1 stop from RFK) might do. Food's okay and they mostly do delivery so the restaurant is not crowded. But that area is not as interesting or as exciting as Eastern Market which has lots of places. But sometimes when you're with kids you want easy rather than exciting. |
I think we'll probably go with Eastern Market, or just throw a few things in our bag and try and hold out 'til we get home (to Adams Morgan). It's not IN the stadium, so I doubt there will be much in the way of vendors. |
