I read "when a closure might justify a shift to virtual instruction" to mean its a maybe, perhaps when there are several cumulative snow days. This just looks a color coding / labeling project to me. Color coding because I guess the words were too hard to understand? It's kind of funny.

What a misleading thread title. That is not what the announcement says and not what has been discussed at BOE meetings. Remember how we’ve been getting these ice storms with poor timing affecting bus runs? That’s what this change is for. Once we’ve had two emergency closures, the choice is to either run a virtual day when weather is crappy or have to add a day on one of the makeup days.
