AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School has seats available for 3 and 4 years olds for School Year 2023-2024! AppleTree provides free, full-day public charter school programming for three- and four-year olds in 12 locations across Washington, DC, employing our innovative and award winning instructional model, called Every Child Ready (ECR). This instructional model provides educators with tools and resources for “What to Teach”, “How to Teach” and “How to Measure Success.”

We also have a number of employment opportunities available.

SY23-24 Resident Teacher (Full time, requires BA/BS, $45k with 2/3 of Master's degree paid for Year 1, $58k Year 2)

Earn your Master of Arts in Teaching while working alongside a Mentor teacher who provides you with real time coaching and feedback to hone your skills as an Early Childhood Educator

Lead Teacher (Full Time, requires a BA/BS, starting salary $58k)

The Lead Teacher, with the support of a teaching team, is responsible for the growth and development of a classroom of students

Extended Day Team Member (Part Time, $18.36/hr, requires HS Diploma and experience working with children)

Collaborate with other team members to create a seamless transition between the regular school day and extended day, providing enriching activities that support language and literacy development for AELPCS students.

Teaching Assistant (Full Time, requires min 48 college credits, CDA, AA or BA - range $40,435-$42,700)

Work as part of a 2 Teacher classroom using his/her knowledge of the development of young children, the ways in which young children learn and scientifically based practice to support the social, emotional and cognitive development of young children

Dedicated Special Education Aide (Full Time, requires min 48 college credits, CDA, AA or BA 0 range $40,435-$42,700)

Dedicated Aides provide individual instructional support for a child/children with Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) using intensive, evidence-based strategies under the direct supervision of the school’s special education manager and secondary supervision from the campus principal

Note: Extended Day and Teaching Assistant positions are a great opportunity to gain CDA in-classroom hours if you are looking to complete your CDA!
