Anyone have a good rec for one that doesn't cost $150?

Are you me?! I was just looking for one too. Right now I’m using my oven with the light on and it works which is why I’m hesitant to get a proofing box but I really want one.

Does your oven have a proof setting? I only ask because my sister bought a bread proofing box and it turns out she has that oven setting. She bought and kept this one: https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/brod-and-taylor-folding-proofer-and-slow-cooker/
Because she needed a slow cooker anyway. But maybe you can use your slow cooker?

It's still a bit too cold. My starter didn't. . . . start. No bubbles. No rising. I fed it several times, too.

This is the one I'm coveting but at $200 it's making me hesitate.

My oven has not been warm enough with the light on. And I don't have a proof setting. I also may be one of the only people in the world without a slow cooker. LOL
