It's 2023 and we still have baby crying in the background in a Teams meeting?

Or go into the actual office.

If this is the first time it's happened with this person, STFU and have some compassion.

If this is the 5th time it's happened over the course of a couple weeks, then yes - they need to find accommodations.

Yeah. Get past it.

Maybe the baby is crying in the background with the nanny? Its 2023 and we are still judging others?
Anonymous
No. This is the new normal. Just like it's going to next to impossible to make everyone go in 5 days a week. Get used to it

Just FYI if the baby is sick there's often nothing they can do. You can't ask a nanny to take care of a sick baby if it's something contagious. They are doing you a favor by joining the meeting.

You do realize we've had one of the worst cold and flu and COVID and whatever else communicative disease seasons ever?

That parents are having a hard time finding kids ibuprofen and other over the counter kids meds?

That you can't send your kid to daycare when they're sick?

Maybe a spouse is taking care of the baby and the baby is crying. Babies cry. You sound like a horrible person.

damn if i had known nannies are able to stop babies from crying i would have stopped my retirement contributions and sold my breast milk on craigslist to have one.

I worked remote for 15 years prior to covid, and we had to have childcare. It's insane that people just...thinking they can work and take care of an infant now.

How do you know they don't have childcare?

Yeah! and tell your dog to stop barking and the lawn guys to stop with the gas leaf blowers already. The nerve of some people to allow such noises at their home

...if the baby is home there's a pretty good chance they have a nanny. Or a spouse or other family member caring for the baby. Is your company willing to pay to soundproof their home office so you don't hear their dogs/kids/next door neighbour's construction noise?
