BPD II and birth control

Anyone diagnosed with bipolar disorder II and taking birth control? It seems like an unexplored area of medicine and I am going to have my MD consult my OB/GYN. The reason for the concern is the hormone levels in oral contraceptives affecting my mood balance. Currently my mood is stable so I am not on any meds, thankfully don't have to worry about drug interactions. I would greatly like to avoid going back on them I would appreciate anyone's experience with this.
