Does anyone have any idea which schools? I know Discovery is one. I am just curious |
Oh that's cook! I don't know which schools.
But for what it's worth, anybody can go to those practices. I have taken my kids before and it's fun. Unfortunate that they are usually during school hours but you can usually find some day to go. |
Yes we have been to some as well! They are fun ![]() |
Well Caps have a personal connection to Nottingham and Ashlawn (former players) - are those included?
This is cool: All 800 students will receive special Ovi 800 T-shirts from Ovechkin and the Capitals. Leading up to the visit, the students' classes will participate in 800-related number activities in their physical education and other classes, such as math and reading |
This is nice for the kids (at least the kids who are hockey fans) but I'm sad that they won't do a single educational field trip this year because there is no money for buses etc., but APS can provide school buses for this outing. |
What school are you talking about? |
I have a kid in 4/5 at Nottingham and haven’t heard a thing about t, so I doubt it’s one of the 5. |
If your school isn’t having field trips, that’s on your school. Both me ES student and my MS student have been on field trumps this year. But why are you assuming APS is funding this rather than the organization? |
Were the trips to the planetarium/outdoor lab? |
Escuela Key was invited |
Every student is going to the planetarium this year k-5. 5th is doing overnight at outdoor lab. Most 4th are doing Jamestown trip. |
Annoying |
Our school is not doing Jamestown for 4th this year (didn't last year either). I haven't heard about planetarium trips but that would be nice. Kid is not in 5th or 3rd so no outdoor lab. |
That sucks. It does seem like a school decision. I believe our PTA Is paying for everything this year which isn't equitable obviously. The PTAs have been advocating to the school board to get them to cover field trips. |
Planetarium and Outdoor Lab busses are dedicated buses and are paid for separately than field trip buses. Jamestown/Williamsburg buses are tour buses and not APS buses and parents/PTA pay for all or part of those trips.
APS doesn't have busses or drivers for field trips. |
