I am looking for suggestions for any period movies/tv shows. Anything with a costume and british accent will do.

Durrells of Corfu - love other mentioned but like the sometimes upbeat take from this lovable bunch of characters.

Cranford was good too, pre-Downton Masterpiece.

Poldark

Mr Selfridge wasn’t “amazing” but enjoyable

Like almost all of Andrew Davies’ period pieces though Downton Abbey I didn’t care for that much (dragged on too many seasons)

The 2004 adaptation of North and South is good

Call the midwife? I really liked the early seasons in the post war period. I think we forget how affected England was by the war, for many years after. Later seasons are okay but just don’t have that historical resonance that the first seasons had.
