APS NNAT results

My second grader took them in December. Does anyone know when the results will be posted to Parentvue?

Still haven’t gotten November testing results for our 2nd grader

Doesn't APS give the nnat in grade 1? It's cogat for grade 2.

Not sure but our school sent a letter saying APS would be posting cogat scores soon, just not sure when soon is! lol.

I'm in the same boat, but somebody on this board said that COGAT scores were posted to parentvue "mid-January" last year.

My kindergartener just got her score in ParentVue. Does anyone know what score is needed for a referral?

Sorry, she's in 1st, not K.

Mine was referred automatically with a 135 Nnat. Not sure if there’s a published cutoff for school referral, but there’s no limit for parent referral.

Our DC just got his results back and they were shockingly low, which is extremely unexpected given his performance in school otherwise. Anyone have any context here? Our teacher has been unhelpful.

What is shockingly low for you? If it's still in the average range, it might just be what it is. A bad testing day is also a possibility.

The good news is these scores are mostly irrelevant. I don't think they get used for anything other than gifted screening.

PP here. He is in 2nd grade gifted program and scored in the 5th percentile on NNAT

On the NNAT or CoGat? They don't give the NNAT to second graders...

If he's already in the gifted program it doesn't matter at all, which is probably why your teacher isn't super responsive about it.

We just moved from another area and our dd took the CogAT last year. Her percentile this year was ~20% lower in every category. I can imagine some discrepancies, but this was pretty consistent across the board.

I don't think it actually matters for anything so we won't bring it up with the school, but clearly something was different with this administration of the test.

Teachers can refer even if the student doesn’t score particularly well on the NNAT. My child did okay on the test but not near 130. Teacher referred for gifted based on classroom performance. My child was sick one of the testing days and made it up in an office later and maybe that impacted the score, or maybe they are just not a great test taker? We hadn’t planned to refer until the gifted teacher contacted us. Either way, is now in the ‘gifted program,’ though I can’t tell any difference in school work between this child and a sibling who is not in the program.
