I watched the video. While this is certainly true for some families, it definitely would not be true for mine. We would pay roughly $140,000 more in German taxes from my back of the napkin calculations. And that's assuming we'd have the same income (unlikely). While we'd certainly get some benefits that we don't get here, they would not be worth anything close to that.

You do realize that the overwhelming majority of Americans don't make even remotely enough to have to pay $140k in taxes, let alone $140k "more."

The US family becomes richer once their kids aren't in daycare.

Us daycare is insanely expensive and I can't figure out why. It's not like they pay the teachers well.

Stuff like this is why I’m moving myself and my family back to Europe, specifically Scandinavia where my great grandparents are from. This country is full of racial strife, income inequality, craven consumerism, violence, and a high level of unhappiness and psychological problems. Have no idea why they ever left Norway.

I lived in Germany for 10 years, and never saw an "inspection shelf" in a toilet. I think you're thinking of soviet countries.

I just thought Germany had really poorly engineered toilets. This makes mkre sense. I had literally wondered if my anatomy was shaped weirdly bc I miss that narrow tunnel to the water below.

Yeah, I plain dont believe Germans have more disposable cash. Bear in midn that their health care tax is variable and based on occupation, most people also carry private insurance, public daycare is hard to get into, gas is 1.55-1.80 per liter, there is a massive VAT tax that makes nearly every purchase more expensive, and on and on. Oh, and you can inherit debt. No thank you.

I traveled throughout Germany a couple years ago, went to the bathroom quite a few times, and have no idea what you mean.
