Almost 9 month baby had covid - refuses solids

Anonymous
My soon to be 9 month old baby brought covid home from daycare. She made us both sick. She and I recovered very quickly and tested negative. Husband is still positive.

Ever since baby had covid and even before we knew she did (3-5 days prior), she started refusing solids. Now she’s back to normal but the refusal continues. Anyone experienced this after covid with your baby? Should I consult with her pediatrician?

Are you sure she isn't teething? Refusing solids is common when teething.

Solids are just for fun at this age. So long as she’s nursing/bottle normally, no need to worry

Definitely ask the pediatrician if you are concerned but don’t worry too much if she’s drinking an adequate amount of formula/breast milk. It might take her another week or so to be interested in solids again. At 9 months she probably hasn’t been eating a ton of solids I assume so she might just need to get used to it again.

My 22 month old just got over a bad episode of covid and it took a week or so for her appetite to return.

Also, your baby doesn't even need the solid foods. Give it time.
