How long does it take to switch clinics?

Anonymous
Does anyone have insight on how long it takes to switch clinics/what is usually involved in making a switch? Thinking of getting some second opinions but don’t want to lose any time in the process.

Totally depends. You can start calling other clinics while youre cycling somewhere else.

I had a 2 failed cycles due to lack of response and on day 7 went to a new (smaller clinic) - i had already sent my medical records - they saw two follicles, asked if i wanted to try a clomid mini stim that day - signed all the paperwork and they called in my follistim prescription that day. I started clomid that night and had a retrieval 10 days later. Did a fresh transfer and literally had a baby in arms 9 months after my cancelled cycle at the old clinic.

Some places like CCRM will want all their own bloodwork and will take longer,

If you don’t mind sharing what were the two clinics?

It was very quick.
I started at Dominion and did one (failed) IUI - after which they suggested I go directly to donor egg.
I immediately had my files transferred to GW.
The next month I cycled and got pregnant on my first IVF try (with my own eggs)

1-3 months to go from one clinic to another and into a cycle. It depends on availability of next clinic to schedule initial appt, time needed to transfer any medical records and/or redo lab work, and any time you might need to decide on next cycle that you want.
