New kitchen layout and noise/echoing-what can I do? window treatments, rugs, what else?

we have a brand new kitchen, knocked down our dining room wall so the space is bigger. The sound is not good though when we have people over. We currently haven't had time to get window blinds or curtains but have 3 rugs in there, what else can we do?

What do you mean "the sound is not good" ?
Like squeaky floor boards? Too large of a distance between the kitchen and dining room so it's hard to have a conversation?

Space echoes from one side of kitchen to the other in dining room

wall decor
countertop things
my home echoed too but stopped when it was decorated
