Outdoor restaurants in the winter?

I have a friend in DC who wants to meet up when I’m back in town. She will not do inside venues, only outdoor. Are there any restaurants in the area with outdoor seating in the winter? I’ll be there next week (Jan 4).

Of course there are. There are so many to choose from. But why are you here asking when it is your friend that lives here and can figure this out. Why are you managing this from afar?

If you are willing to go just outside the district, Zinnia in close-in Silver Spring has a ton of outdoor seating and they supply fire pits, blankets, and smores kits. I think they have an area with heat lamps as well.

What’s your budget? Also if you look at reservation websites like Resy, Tock, and open table you can specifically reserve seats for heated and outdoor patios.

I had an incredible Christmas Day brunch with family on the heated patio at Ambar in Capital Hill. They have the little enclosed outdoor seating areas too if you prefer semi-outdoors vs fully outdoors with heaters. The brunch was so delicious and the service outstanding. Can’t wait to return.
