Advice Sought: Help me Pick a New Car

Anonymous
I need to purchase a new car in Q1 2023 and I have no idea what I should be considering. Please help me develop a list. Currently driving a 10 year-old Subaru Outback Limited 3.6r mainly for city driving. I love the engine pick-up for my limited interstate driving, the fully loaded interior, the size of the car for city parking (much easier to park than our SUV), cargo space is satisfactory (don't need more).

Wants for new car:
luxe vs. utilitarian styling inside and out
maybe a 3rd row capacity for the occasional carpool situation (have 2 elementary sports playing kids kids and 1 small dog)
prefer a hybrid or EV (no longer living in the DMV so do not have the severe cold issues that plague range)

Thanks in advance!

2024 Equinox has a new electric model but only two rows.

2024 Blazer is bigger.

But you have to wait till late summer 2023. Those are both next Gen electric SUVs

I know they are American but style wise, price and range can’t be beat and the 2024 model really brings you way forward in tech

I can’t wait for the electric blazer to come out. We have a 2023 and a 2013 Chevy so we plan on replacing the older one with electric in about a year

The 2023 Blazer is an underpowered, overpriced sh1tbox with a rental grade interior. Anyone considering paying in excess of $50 grand for a Chevy EV before markup has lost their damn mind.

If you want a more luxe version of the outback, maybe an Audi Allroad or Volvo wagon?
