Baby will only sleep held upright with a nipple in their mouth

Third baby, worst sleeper by far. She is about to turn 4 months, 3 adjusted. I need to sleep train at 4 months adjusted because I'm going crazy. They say you can't mess up sleep this early but I'm worried I've really backed myself into a corner here. She will only sleep if I'm holding her in the cradle position and she's attached to the breast. Help!

How do I slowly transition out of this? I used sleep easy sleep solution for my second and that was great. Should I try to night wean first? She ate every two hours. I don't need to drop all night feeds I just need her to sleep without constantly eating.

You just stop doing what you’re doing. Your baby will absolutely sleep.

Start with shorter periods of time in the crib. Get her used to the crib.

Then sleep train since there isn’t any benefit to a child not sleeping.

Don’t be afraid to let the baby cry. If she’s screaming nonstop then you can pick her up if you’re not feeling comfortable but she may just fall asleep with a little crying. If you’re always holding her with your boob in her mouth then that’s what she’s going to think is normal.
