Maryland Emission Test Question

So my next test is due by August 30, 2023. Can I have it tested months before that? Like May 1 2023? That's like 4 months before the due date. Is that allowed? TIA

Not sure. I guess that's what I am trying to figure out. According to DMV website, it just says please complete the test by August 30, 2023 (or something like that).

You can do it anytime between when you receive the notice, and the deadline.

Ok so the notification is a requirement, not just a reminder, before I can get it tested.

I think there needs to be a certain amount of time that has passed since your last emissions test before you can get another. I just got an email from the MVA that my emissions test had to be done by March, and that was the first I’d heard from them.
