What is the appeal of a septum piercing?

When I picked up DD from school I noticed quite a few students on campus with them. What is the appeal? Doesn’t it get caught on things?

I think the nostril rings are cute but not the septum rings. Flo Pugh wears one a fair amount and even on her I don’t fet the appeal but pretty sure she’s not wearing it for me.

Yes, that's the term. Idk if people are high or drunk or trying to look edgy when they make such decisions but its a poor choice in long term and makes one question their decision making ability.
