If you have twins, did they often get frustrated? My twins are 16mo and they are already having temper tantrums which is WAY earlier than my singleton. For my first, I was able to immediately cater to her needs and these two have to wait which I worry is having an ill effect on them now. Anyone btdt? |
Kids are different, this probably isn’t twin-related. |
Are they capable of communicating? My kids got frustrated when their mouths couldn’t keep up with their brains. |
Immediately catering to needs makes more tantrums, not less! In the long run. |
My singletons started tantrums early on, 14 months. She's just a sensitive kid, way more aware of the environment and sensitive to hunger/tiredness than my second kid. It's personality, not your inability to meet their needs. In fact I would have assumed that twins get better at waiting because they're not used to having needs met immediately. |
Try learning asl sign language with them! I did this with baby twins and then again with the one who had more difficulties speaking. It’s fun and helpful |
Twins have been hard for me. 16 mos was definitely peak toddler insanity for mine. Finally got easier around 2.5 years but…. I also agree, kids are different in a million ways so the frustration thing probably isn’t strictly speaking twin-related, but the twin thing certainly intensifies everything on the parenting side. |
