h yes. If I could live in Three Pines I would. But I'd never interfere with his marriage, I just want to hang out and eat with them.

(And I somehow missed that a new one was out. Yay!)

Did you see Hillary’s post about the show?

Then you will also love Inspector Adam Dalgliesh (Police AND poet) by PD James (RIP).

Also like Vera Stanhope series by Ann Cleeves.

I didn't even know there was a show! Merry Christmas to me!

I loved the latest book. Wait, I loved them all.

She has a production company and loves the books. She also owns the rights to make a show about Maisie Dobbs.

Apparently, both series were on her recommended book lists back in the day.

I also love Gamache! I’m just starting #11 (late to the party). So far #10 was the best. I can’t wait to watch the show.

Yes! Although I'd like to pretend Madness of Crowds never happened.

I had no idea about the show until I stumbled upon it on Prime a couple days ago. It's very good!

I like the show too! I really like Alfred Molina as Gamache. And it’s SO much better than the movie (possibly made for TV) based on Still Life that came out a few years ago.

I had read that the show was coming out and then forgot about it so it was a nice end of year surprise to find out it's available.

I'm really enjoying it so far. Just wrapping up episode 6 right now.

Louise Penny has expressed some legit issues with some choices in the show and said she was not really given the consulting role she was promised. This makes me never want to watch the show.

Is this Hillary Rodham Clinton? She is producing this and has the rights to Maisie Dobbs?? Holy moly, I now admire HRC even more than I did before!

I think she is overall pleased with it despite disagreeing with some changes they made.

In her January newsletter she wrote, "Are there disappointments? For me, definitely. (Why, why did they switch Olivier and Gabri?? Profoundly disrespectful of my creations, as though the characters are so trivial they are interchangeable.)"

I haven't watched the show yet, so I don't know what she means by that. Any thoughts?

The show only loosely tracks with the books, as far as I can remember. And I very much do not agree with the casting choice for Gamache. As for Olivier and Gabri, neither was what I expected, but they aren’t as central to the show anyway. The show is enjoyable; would’ve been better if I hadn’t pictured the characters in my head.
