My girl's hair is always tangled, and she does not let me to brush her long hair or get a haircut. Can kid use conditioner? What kind? Kid is age 4. |
Johnson's makes a conditioner. I haven't used it because my kids have very short hair, but I love their baby shampoo. |
I don't think it's a problem; I used conditioner on my kids from day 1. |
She won’t let you? Your 4 year old makes the rules? Cut the hair. If it isn’t brushed regularly, it looks horrible. She has to let you brush it or she is getting a haircut. That’s it. Stand firm. |
Spray her hair with detangler and let her brush it first with a wet brush. Then you “finish up”. There’s no reason she can’t do this at four. If she doesn’t want to, haircut. |
I have always used conditioner on DD 3.5’s hair. Even then her long hair sometimes tangles so I occasionally use Fairy Tales conditioning spray. |
Yes kids can use conditioner. My kid is AA so we put a lot of conditioner in to keep it healthy. |
I have used conditioner on my kids hair since 2 or 3, when it was long enough to get tangled.
Pro tip: if you comb the conditioner into the hair with a wide tooth comb (if very tangled start at the bottom and work your way up until the comb pulls through easily) and then rinse it out at the end of the bath or shower, her hair will stay less tangled once it dries. Also, if it does tangle between washes, use a detangling spray on the tangles and it will be easier to comb them out. I know you said she won't let you brush it or cut it, but obviously you can't do that longterm. But if you use tools to make it hurt less when you do comb it, she will resist it less. |
I use a light weight conditioner (Giovanni) ok both my kids. Its leave in. Kids are 3 and 7. We also spray detangler and braid nearly every day. Way fewer tangles that we |
I recommend a leave-in conditioner or a spray detangler that can be used after washing. I don't think a conditioner that you rinse out is going to do enough for detangling. |
Yes |
Johnson’s makes kids conditioner and so does aveeno. Definitely use if hair gets tangled. |
Yes! By all means, try a leave in conditioner. I like Pureology 21 Benefits spray for my daughter, but we use reg conditioner too. Her hair is very dry. Try that if a regular leave in isn't cutting it |
Obviously.
Their hair is made of the same stuff as yours. Don't be cheap either. Get her salon quality. |
And, we use The Wet Brush after washing. It's amazing with tangles. CVS has it. When dry, we use a boars hair brush because it will just slide over tangles and at least make the hair look less ratty. |
