Are you driving today?

Are you driving today considering the freezing temperatures?
Anonymous
I am out in Bethesda. The roads are bone dry.
Anonymous
You mean just driving around in this area, not a road trip? Yes.

Huh? What do you mean? We've been running errands all day. The roads are fine.
Anonymous
I did and DH is as well. We may also go out later, but yeah, not really looking forward to it. The only thing is it will be colder tomorrow.

Why do you ask OP? What do you think happens to roads when it’s dry and cold?

Vet appointment at 5:30 in rural VA for sick dog. UGH. Not looking forward to it. But after that it's the weekend, and this foster dog is pregnant. I think the benefits of getting her examined outweigh the driving risks... ?

OP may have been concerned about the warnings about "flash" freezing of wet roads (i.e. iciness) not just cold temps. Sounds like that hasn't come to pass which is great.

Roads are fine, but a lot of sidewalks are really slippery. All the rain flash froze solid.

What risk?

Falling limbs, black ice.

Full wind restrictions on bay bridge. Power lines down in places.

I was out running errands today. I might go out later this evening and pick up a pizza for dinner.

Yes, and that's why we drive a Jeep.

You mean so the wind is more likely to blow you over?
