Slugs don't wash off. You have to see it there and pull it off. It more likely indicates very fresh produce.

Was the slug dead? Otherwise, the broccoli wasn't cooked/steamed, or however prepared.
Or the slug, if alive, made it onto the broccoli after the broccoli was cooked....in which case I'd question the health standards of the kitchen. |
