We don't need longer lines, though if MD and VA want to pay for them, then great. But we already have VRE and MARC. Why not beef up the rail lines and leve the rapid stops metro for the purposes it serves.
As to the new loop, alleviating the Rosslyn Tunnel problem, while adding another downtown line is actually really smart. It would also address the transit desert in Ward 5 and that western part of PG County. |

I am the person that posted this. There was another version that, instead of a loop, carried the line from Georgetown east through the upper part of downtown, and then on through Ward 5 to PG County. |
