ISO throwback strawberry Jello recipe - more inside

Anonymous
My grandmother used to make a Jello “salad” that I would like to replicate, but can’t find the recipe anywhere. I’m hoping someone here might be familiar with the recipe. Here’s what I know:

Ingredients include: Strawberry Jello, frozen strawberries in juice, canned pineapple, marshmallows, cream cheese cut into bits, pecan pieces

The salad isn’t whipped or particularly creamy looking. I’m pretty sure I listed all the ingredients and haven’t forgotten anything. There may not have been marshmallows in the recipe, No CoolWhip or whipped cream, no crust, etc.

Thank you for your replies and leading me to the recipe if you happen to have it.

It sounds similar to 7up salad

Yes! In my family we had this one, except the middle layer consisted of sour cream blended with one softened brick of cream cheese.
It’s actually really delish. My husband turned up his nose until he took a bite!

PS It’s important to use canned crushed pineapple. If you use fresh it won’t set…at least that’s what my grandmother said!

Do you wait until the jello is set to add canned fruit or do you add it when the jello is completely liquid?
