A work bag that’s not just a work bag

Anonymous
I need a bag for carrying my laptop to the office and for some upcoming work travel - I have a consulting job, I want to look polished, but not flashy.

I really hate (for me) totes that are laptop “work bags” - I’d rather this look like a bag that just happens to fit my laptop but could be used on weekends as well for daytime things.

Right now I’m leaning to the Cuyana System Tote but it’s just so boring … anyone have a suggestion for something else to consider?

Want to stick under ~$500 and open to non-leather as long as it’s not fake/vegan leather

Thanks in advance for any leads!

I’m not sure if these fully hit your mark (particularly for weekend use), but I just bought three bags that fit my laptop without screaming laptop bag.

Naghedi St Barth tote: https://tnuck.com/collections/naghedi/products/pebble-st-barths-large-tote?variant=43475752976606

I intended to keep only one but they’re all so beautiful that I decided to keep all three!

I have the original Lo & Sons OMG. In the 4 years I’ve owned it, it’s been around the world several times, been my work bag, preferred personal item, a gym bag. It has a built in shoe sleeve so I can put my heels in the bag and walk in flats, then change to heels at my destination. I also slip my wet umbrella in there. Good pocket placement. Rides nicely on my Away suitcase. My DH has often referred to it as my purse because he knows no better. It looks like new after all that and I’m struggling to convince myself to replace it.

I got the Lo and Sons Rowledge backpack. I ride my bike to work and need something to hold my laptop and work clothes. It converts to a purse as well. I like how it is dressy enough for work but practical. I originally had a backpack from an outdoors brand and it looked too rugged for the office.

I had a dagne dover but hated it. Just too big and clunky on my frame and it scuffed easily. I sold it and got a lo and sons.
