Counselor has not signed ED 2 Agreement

Anonymous
After going back and forth following an ED 1 denial, DD is going to ED 2. However, her guidance counselor has not responded to her emails asking her to sign the agreement and she was out the two days before break started (so she was out starting 12/16). Assuming she isn't checking emails over break, I don't think she will sign the agreement till 1/3, two days after the application deadline.

Anyone encountered this? Do schools give the counselors more time to sign the form?

Confused. If your child was rejected once, why do you think they would be accepted the second time? I am sincerely asking - I have heard of deferral but I thought a “no” was a “no” not “ask again later.”

Assuming it’s a different school for ed2.

I’d email another counselor in school or someone else. How is it possible that a counselor isn’t checking email during this critical period in the process

ED 2 is at a second school.

Send again and cc head of cco and registrar in case they are covering for her.

Assuming the deadline isn't until after Jan holiday so I'm sure they will get to it (but I also empathize with the anxiety to want to just have it done).

Call the school. There must be an admin type of person that can handle thism

Me again - perhaps cc entire set of counselors with hope that one of them might tip her off.

If you are totally unaware of what ED2 is maybe wait a minute before responding

Call the college and explain the situation--no need to mention the ED 1 app. Almost certainly they will say it's no problem. If you can't reach the college and also have no luck with the high school, I wouldn't worry. I'm sure this happens all the time and that the college will be okay with the counselor signing after the deadline.

Thanks! She called them as well and they are also closed! She wrote an email.

I never realized how inconvenient early January applications are for kids heading into winter break! Applications was done a while ago but DD didn’t even think to request the ED 2 agreement before ED 1 results.

No one is looking at apps and they won’t ding her for an otherwise submitted application.

This. As long as the materials she, as the applicant, needs to submit are in by the deadline, they won't ding her.
