| It’s interesting that McDuffie gets rewarded by his colleagues for knocking off Silverman, despite technically not having any seniority as an At-Large member. I wonder why that would be? |
| Bonds in that chair position ensures no oversight. Nice, Phil. |
| I heard Mendo was going to boot Allen off Judiciary (for obvious reasons) but he allowed him to save face by publicly lobbying for a switch to Transportation. |
|
Wow. Put the most conservative councilmembers and those most aligned with bowser in charge of the committees most needing to do oversight. This will end well.
Mendo really has to go. |
The best candidate against him in years still couldn't get within double digits. He's not going anywhere. It's hilarious and telling that you consider any member of the DC Council to be "conservative" when they all are to the left of 95 percent of the U.S. population. |
So, Mendelson - who supported the criminal code revision and the other work of the Judiciary - was actually so mad at Allen that he was going to force him off the committee? He has an odd way of demonstrating his dissatisfaction with Allen. |
He was smartly noting which way the wind was blowing. Allen was becoming a political liability in that role. |
| I had hopes there might be a schools committee again. Did I miss it on the list? |
Thanks to Mendelson there still no education committee. I guess he thinks we don't need dedicated oversight. |
The Grosso oversight was so horrendous -- remember when he got stripped of his chairmanship mid-term? -- that it's not coming back, apparently. |
| I miss Grosso 😢 |
They needed to get her off housing and she had to go somewhere. |
What can he do? She has seniority. She is an idiot, but DC voters keep electing her. |
