If guanfacine didn’t work for your child with ADHD/Anxiety was Clonidine better?

Guanfacine is making my kid super emotional and reactive. Obviously we are working with the doctor but I’m just curious what might be next. In general we were hoping to avoid stimulants for an unrelated medical reason but I’m not sure if there are other options. Just feeling so discouraged today.

My DS had that kind of reaction as well as disturbed sleep from guanfacine (with the disturbed sleep leading to more regulation problems). Clonidine does not have negative side effects for him and does help.

Thanks for responding. I am so discouraged since most things seem like bad choices for my DC. This is hard.
