Curious do you do class gift or individual gift?

Because DC is SN, so I always do my individual gift to school teachers and IEP teachers on holiday & teacher’s appreciation day! Three reasons are 1) I want to write thank you personal notes for teaching DC, 2) I want to send gifts to all teachers/staffs that have helped my kid, not only the classroom teacher ( class gift is only for main teacher ONLY), and 3) my gift amount is relatively on the bigger side because I don’t want to follow the public school max limit.

I may look like an uncooperative/unappreciated parent to the classroom mom, but I just want to do my own gift and card on behalf of my child. I am not rich to the point to contribute twice on both group & individual gift. Do you do individual or group gift to teachers?

I do an individual gift because I think that while group gifts are nice in theory, they often cause consternation amongst participants. So I think it's nice for people to give what they can with a personalized feel to it.

For five years, I did the group gift. This year I’m doing individual gifts because there are 5 teachers to honor, not just DC homeroom.

How do you avoid the public school max limit? It was my conundrum this year and I still haven't solved it.

I wish we had a class gift. If so, I would do class gift and spend longer on nice long notes.

If you do individual gift, do you let the group gift organizer know about that?
