Academically rigorous Christian schools in PG County

Anonymous
My DS is going to middle school and we are considering moving him out of a TAG program. Any suggestions?

What grade and gender are you looking for?

My experience is that the PGCPS TAG programs are more academically rigorous than the privates in PG.

I have a friend whose son went to Holy Trinity and she was really happy with it.

When you say Christian, are you including parochial schools, or do you only want non-denominational schools?

Overrated. We went an enrolled in 3rd and left after the school year. Don't do it.

Is Annapolis or Millersville to far? Anne arundel Christian school or Rockbridge could be options. I visited Rockbridge and it very rigorous but lacking diversity.

I am looking at Tag for my elementary school kid. How was your experience? Any reason why you are not considering staying through middle?

Annapolis Area Christian School is anything but rigorous. The Anne Arundel privates besides Key, Indian Creek, Severn School, and St Mary’s are absolute trash. The vast majority of kids who graduate from the other private schools go to Salisbury, AACC, and Towson.

LOL at including St Mary's, but leaving off Spalding.
And the OP is specifically looking at Christian Schools, so Key, Indian Creek, and Severn aren't relevant.
Sometimes it's OK to just not respond to a post.

it really depends on what you mean by "Christian"

St Anne's Episcopal and St Andrew's Methodist might both be good options if you're willing to head towards AACo.

What did you decide, OP?
Any feedback for other parents who may be finding themselves with similar question?

May want to try Grace Christian in Bowie if only looking through 8th grade. School was a tad bit conservative for my taste, but academics are solid.

Rockbridge Academy in Crownsville is very academically rigorous if you are okay with a very conservative/religious environment.

Bump

Living Water in Temple Hills? No direct experience, but have heard good things about them.
