How did kids fare this year in Cornell ED round?

Anonymous
My kid is interested in Cornell for next year.
Strong student but unhooked.
Is it better to just apply RD?

Lots of Cornell ED acceptances on all the local instagrams

At our school, Cornell ED unhooked admits actually occasionally occur. Can’t say the same really for other ivies. So I don’t think it’s a complete waste for ED.

My Kid did not ED got wait listed RD. So likely would have gotten in ED. She is there now as a transfer. ED if you want it. Kid loves the school. Transferred from a top 4-5 SLAC. No regrets.

Don't bother ED unless you are hooked.

My DS was waitlisted for Cornell RD last year for Engineering. Hard to believe he didn’t get in with a 4.6 and 18 AP classes but their loss was another schools gain. It all worked out!

OP this is also a good thread on the Big Red School in upstate NY.
