| Wholesome and hilarious. 10/10 |
| Tom is the best!! His podcast, and his Sirius show with Fortune are also wonderful. |
| I wanted to like it, but didn't laugh once. Neither did my wife. |
| How is that his fault? |
| I laughed a lot, he’s a hoot. Had not heard of him so will be looking for more options to see/hear him in future. |
Well I guess you guys are just different then |
| I love him! |
| Agree, his Netflix specials are great, highly recommend |
I only so slightly chuckled, I don't find him funny on his own. I do think he can be funny when he riffs with other comedians. I think he's a little like Jim Gaffigan where he tries to keep it so "fam friendly" it can teeter on boring and trite, but outside of his specials he's clearly talented and hilarious. |
| I loved it. He has just the right amount of self-deprecating, FML, 'welp, that happened' kind of humor that I find hilarious. |
I'm the nonlaugher and after posting that I did think of the Gaffigan comparison. I do think Gaffigan is funnier. Though admittedly, i like more edgier comedy like Chapelle, Burr, or Silverman. Our teen can handle that. |
| For family-friendly, no cursing comedy that's actually hilarious, check out Nate Bargatze. He has at least 2 Netflix specials now. |
| I thought the Netflix promo trailer was funny (the bit about the teen smoking weed), but then when I streamed the special, I couldn't get into it. So bummed. Looking for something new to stream / love. |
I tried Papa based on this rec but I also didn’t have more than a mild chuckle once. Both Gaffigan and Bergatze are much funnier. I don’t love all the fat jokes Gaffigan does. My kids also like Sebastian Menascalco (who can be a bit much for some people) and Trevor Noah. My personal faves are still a bit too edgy for them - Chappelle, Wong, Rock, Schumer, etc. |
| I read the OP so I watched his stand up last night. I give it a 1 out of 10. It’s good to watch if you can’t fall asleep. |
