Hi! Considering getting a bread maker. For those of you who have one, do you find it useful? We eat a moderate amount of bread so while I am interested in homemade bread, I’m hesitant to spring for a new appliance and lose precious storage and counter space. Also, how do you store your homemade bread? Fridge? Bread box?
Thanks! |

I got one and use it enough. I would never make homemade bread or rolls on my own, but do with it. Since we do not use it that often, we just save the bread in a plastic bag - and keep with other bread products in a dark colored plastic drawer(we use it like a bread box- it just fits better in our kitchen.). When I use it to make rolls (it makes the dough and does the first rise) I sometimes freeze a few rolls.
The main downside is now I don’t enjoy store bought bread as much ; ) |
| I use my bread machine weekly for my kids sandwiches. The smell of fresh bread is heavenly. It’s also good for making dough for pizza, buns, etc. I have an expandable bread keeper from King Arthur flour. |
| I don’t use a bread maker but make bread weekly. I slice and store in the freezer. |
| Have you ever made no knead bread? Once I got used to that method haven't used bread maker much at all. |
| I use my bread machine about once a week. I’ve found a good sourdough recipe that works, and I also use it for dough for buns and pizza dough. It lives in the floor of the pantry when it’s not in use, and I keep the bread in a bread box (much better than plastic bags). |

Pp from above.
Now I am interested in the recipes for bread in a breadmaker that holds up to sandwiches. And a bread storage options. |
