Slip on shoes for tween?

Anonymous
I want to get DD (10) some slip on shoes for Christmas. She currently wears sneakers all the time but leaves them tied and slips into them. I was thinking about Toms. She isn’t interested in Uggs. Any ideas for what’s cool or a kid would like? She wears adult shoe sizes, so I’ll be buying in the women’s department.

my daughter loves Vans

OP here, thank you! Forgot to mention - she has wider feet. Not that she always needs wide shoes, but we did get the Vans above and they weren’t comfortable.

Does your daughter care about fashion? If so, Toms aren't popular. If not, they're fine but not super supportive.

So, what is popular?

Why not just buy something like Lock Laces and turn her sneakers into slip ons? My kids (older teens) and I have all done it. I love Lock Laces!

My 11yo would prefer to exclusively wear slip on vans.

As long as her size is at least a women's 5, you can look into Vans wides

"Wide width sizes provide a spacious platform by a bottom width that is 5mm wider and a ball girth that is 10mm longer than our regular width sizes."

You could try Seavees. They run wider than vans and look similar.

Vans come in wide:

My kids find vans slip one super hard to get on. I think they’re too shallow (not high enough) rather than too narrow. I’d just look for slip on sneakers. Gap, target, DSW, they all have them at least in fall and spring

My teens (aged 13 and 15) and all their friends, including older tweens (11-12), all wear white Crocs everywhere. They also wear Ugg slippers, but you said your kid isn't interested in Uggs.

NO Toms! Definitely vans! I have wide feet and love vans

My son also slips into tied shoes, but I don't think he wants slip-ons. Just worth considering.
