| Hi! My daughter is super into cooking and asked for a recipe book for Christmas. I hate cooking and I was hoping DCUM can give me some good book ideas with simple recipes that she can make mostly on her own. I would love different recipes from around the world if possible. She is 7. Thank you! |

How old is your kid? DS 10 is totally into cooking, and I can definitely recommend The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs, we also have the MasterChef Junior cookbook and and few others.
I will say these are serious recipes! So depending on the age of your kids (ie younger), you may want to consider something else. |
| Kid Chef Junior is good for the early elementary set. I just got a gift for a set of siblings in that age range and I got them the kid chef junior boxed set of books. They were very well received. |
| Pp here. It looks like the box set is on sale right now for 17 dollars on Amazon! When I got it it was 25 ish. Anyway there is one hardcover baking book and one hardcover cookbook in it. |

Here are some of our favorites specifically for kids:
(Ages 4-8) Sesame Street Silly Snacks Cooking with Kids (out of print but plenty available on eBay). Anything in the America's Test Kitchen for Young Chefs series With a little help, your 8yo should also be able to handle these: Rachel Ray's Look + Cook (lots of photos, steps broken down, not many crazy ingredients, ~30-45 min) The Best Simple Recipes by America's Test Kitchen (for an ATK cookbook, they really do keep it simple!) Teach them good knife techniques and to clean up as you go. Put them 'in charge' of dinner one night a week (even if you're the sous chef!)....and enjoy this journey of them learning a lifelong skill and pleasure.

Thank you!
Someone recommended this one which I like because it has recipients from around the world and neither DH nor I are American… not sure. My daughter is 7 and is a beginner chef… I don’t think she would like anything too complex. https://www.amazon.com/progress-tracker/package/ref=pt_redirect_from_gp?_encoding=UTF8&from=gp&itemId=omjlrrnupksrwn&orderId=114-7403803-4668241&packageIndex=&shipmentId=180643250961301 |
| My son had two cookbooks from Americas Test Kitchen. One for cooking and one for baking. He likes them. |
| Is she at all picky? I have several kids' cookbooks that people have given us and find there may be 3-4 in there that my kids will eat anyway, so they are pretty useless. We just have them help us cook or if I come up with something, I look up an easy recipe online they can help with. |
| +1 for America's Test Kitchen. We have one of the books and it's great. |
