neuropsych in older kids

Anonymous
Son has a 504 plan and is a junior in HS. SHould we redo his neuropsych this year (spring of 2023) or sometime his senior year? His current one is 5 years old. He will need accommodations in college.

it should be redone every three years. After our autistic/ADHD DS got into GMU, GMU noted his testing was more than 3 years old and gave us a list of preferred testers and off we went for another $3K round of testing (this was a few years ago). Then, once we had that in hand, we went to GMu for accommodations. Other schools may not flag it.

Maybe see where he gets in and what they want. 2nd semester senior year is not busy, so there would be time to take off school for the testing. College Board as you probably know has moved to "whatever accommodations you are getting in high school," so hopefully colleges will start to follow suit. It seems like many colleges we've looked at do things on a case-by-case basis. My child has dyslexia though which doesn't really change vs. other super-powers that may vary in presentation and severity as the student ages.
