We are trying to get Zoolight passes for December 23. Below is the information from the website of when they are released. They currently aren't showing any for the 23rd. Does the 2 weeks out released at midnight mean they were released earlier today and are gone, or are they released tonight at midnight?
Thanks! Passes Released on a rolling schedule: ZooLights free entry passes and paid parking passes will be available on a rolling basis two weeks prior to the event night. Additional passes will be released one week out from the event, the day before, and the day of the event. Ticket release timing is as follows: 2 weeks out | released at midnight 1 week out | released at midnight Day before |released at midnight Day of | released at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. |

Ugh, no wonder I haven't been able to get anything yet - I haven't been doing this at midnight! What a pain. We've been trying to get Hirschhorn tickets too, and that's also terrible.
Thanks for sharing this - I'm going to try setting an alarm tonight I guess! (I'm assuming the release date is the 2 weeks / 1 week out at 12AM that day, OP - to answer your question. I bet you missed it for today.) |
| You actually only need passes if walking in. |
| I got tickets for the 23rd at about 5 am today |
Do you mean if you get parking you don’t? I though parking was additional? |
| we were planning to go over the school break. after reading this, i am feeling my ticketmaster/taylor swift ptsd kicking in!! sorry kids, i don’t think i can do it again!! |
| The new system is so ridiculous. In the past, there were no tickets or passes for zoolights. Everyone just walked in, & this system worked fine. |
Parked and came in side entrance. They really only checked my parking pass. No one is checking tickets by parking lot A, B or C entrance. Some folks Uber and just walk in |
Not sure if this is good information. I definitely had my tickets checked. |
| You can only buy parking WITH tickets, PP is talking out of their ass. |
And here I thought this was still the case. I guess I’m out of luck this year. |
PP, it’s a pain but if you can be online at midnight the night before you can still get tickets - it worked for me last night. |
Before the walk-in phase, everyone did need tickets and they weren't free! My kids are now 14 and 18, but I remember going when my youngest was probably 1 or 2 and we had to pay to attend Zoolights. |
Yes, they charged the first year or two (though it wasn’t hard to get tickets). But for many years they didn’t charge or require passes, so how is that relevant here? |
We went tonight - had a parking pass and tickets and parked in the lot at the bottom of the hill. Parking pass was scanned, tickets were not - the only ticket line we saw was at the top of the zoo/Connecticut Avenue entrance. I'm glad Zoolights is back but it is definitely not worth the midnight ticket situation. No access to any of the animal areas or any path beyond the main path, which made things pretty crowded. Top and bottom of the hill are pretty but the middle is pretty bare - perhaps FONZ took off with their light collection? |
