| Since we always hear about how it’s head-over-heels the best school in the DMV, what do kids from there do after graduation that’s so special? |
Their wiki is a good place to start: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Jefferson_High_School_for_Science_and_Technology. And clicking on some of their names, they’ve overwhelmingly attended the usual suspects: Harvard, Stanford, Duke, MIT |
It's the best high school in the country!. |
| Sorry, was not prepped for that question. |

My kid!
|
| Dave Grohl, and it isn't close. |
| Didn't realize Chris Sununu went to TJ. Did any other children of politicians/dc types attend TJ? |
| Vlad Tenev |
That’s really cool. Although RH hopefully doesn’t become the next FTX. |
Isn't he a billionaire? |
Yes. It’s pretty shocking how few big entrepreneurs have come out of TJ considering they attract the best STEM minds in the area. It’s really just Vlad Tenev and Howard Lehrman carrying the TJ name. |
| Why is it shocking? These are kids attending a public school whose families likely don't come from exorbitantly rich backgrounds that allow them to take huge risks in their careers. |
I agree, that’s pretty interesting but I don’t think there’s a super high concentration of big entrepreneurs from any public school. Also, it’s *Lerman |
| To answer your title: I am. |
Asians lack social capital/connections to make it as a big time entrepreneur. Many of them obtain MDs and PhDs from top schools and become physicians, engineers and researchers. |
