looking for book rec for husband and teen - international espionage themed

Anonymous
Hello,

My spouse and teen sons love to read. I’m looking for a fiction book or series with action, international espionage, and humor would be a bonus. Does a book version of James Bond / Mission Impossible / Bourne exist? (I realize some of those are books- looking for other recs.) Thanks!

The Daniel Silva Gabriel Allon series. The earlier ones are especially good.

I saw the heading and came here to say this. Love Gabriel Allon. And Silva is a DC guy.

Depends on what era of international espionage they might like.
I find the Alan Furst books incredibly good for describing pre and during WWII espionage.

Another +1. The last few years' worth have become fairly formulaic, but the series is great. Start with Book 1 and move forward.

Not as much action or international spying (it’s more counterterrorism), but lots of humor: the Slow Horses series by Mick Heron.
