There is a separate PSAT for 8th grade. Not quite the same thing. We took it for practice.

There are no GT programs in high school, but there are several magnet programs with admissions based on grades and standardized test scores. The PSAT is not one of those tests.

CTY is a waste of money for HS kids and won't help you with college.

PSAT won't help you with MCPS magnet admissions.

As for the highest scores... I'm sure there are some 8th graders out there with perfect or near perfect scores.
