Here are some typical ones for my extended family. Please chime in with yours!
*Mom and/or sister gossips about who got fat *Relatives bombarding my kids about where they might want to go to college-one is in middle school, the other is a sophomore *Mom singing the praises of Trump *Cousin making sure everyone knows volunteer work she did and where she donated. Many of us do volunteer work quietly and make donations without needing praise and humblebragging. *Brother and I giving eachother "the look" every time we get a passive aggressive comment from a family member and catch eachother's eyes *Aunt has a new illness-a non-life threatening illness she claims to be dying of to get attention. This has gone on for over 2 decades. Meanwhile plenty of people have passed away from actual illnesses and they only said they were dying when they were actually dying. *BIL finds a new and more creative way to ask husband for money, but rejects any offer for husband to pay bill directly as opposed to giving cash to BIL. |

Parents encouraging their kids to play on iPads and eat whatever junk food they want so as to be left alone so they can drink and socialize.
One half the couple getting drunk and everyone pretending that it didn't happen. Uncle falling asleep on the guest bed with all the coats with his hand down his pants. The tiniest child clogging the toilet and at least half a dozen men gathering to look at how they deposited something so large from such a small body. The one who winces each time they see anyone eat anything because of their own food issues. |

Sentence begins with “Oh, you should have…..blank..instead” about every single thing.
Tries to sneak “just a pat’ of butter into dishes designated vegan for other relatives. Tells DD how beautiful she is and won’t stop fawning over her appearance and DS that he’s “All Boy”. Pump people for info on upcoming vacations and brazenly invite themselves. Bring over regifted treasures (aka crap) that we’ve already declined and be horrified when we say we’ll donate it. Make comments insulating that they are one of the hosts even though they have done nothing and it’s not their house. Refer to grown women as girls. Keep bringing up how awful they think BLM protests are and their concern that protesters might take over where they live even though there are no black people where they live. Wrap up half uneaten pieces of food and shove them in the fridge. This one grosses me out. |

| Sister gets pissed off over some perceived insult, spends a day and a half stomping around chewing out everyone in sight (including her own husband and child), then gets up the next day and acts like all is normal and happy. Nobody else has any idea what (or who) initially set her off, we all act like nothing happened. |
