That's funny. It's going to be be a written statement similar to this one. https://www.usyouthsoccer.org/news/2024/10/23/us-youth-soccer-us-club-soccer-ayso-statement-on-forthcoming-u-s-soccer-decision-on-calendar-year-vs-birth-year-registration/ |
| If us youth soccer is releasing a write up, will the affected leagues follow up with specific info pertaining to their leagues? |
You'd think that nearly every organization, league and club in the country will send out a statement - after the official statement is made by US Soccer. |
| The decision was made by USYS, US Club, and AYSO. Not US Soccer. |
You’d think! But I agree. There will be a lot of statements from a lot of different leagues and state organizations because US Soccer punted to allow for more flexibility. We will see how flexible everyone is soon enough. Even the latest “announcement” will come with its variants |
| Who specifically is announcing Wednesday? |
It was approved at the US Soccer AGM, but ok. https://x.com/imcollegesoccer/status/1895642525920346441?s=46&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR2O1UtCzyfEl9OKaaxU4IWQcwt0jQtg0XuVdJ7r7_pD0sZVR_8BJn9dGzQ_aem_F4MUUt9-IYUGBoxAjluucg |
the powers that be |
Those organizations are involved with USSF, but they came to a decision to move back to 9/1. That is allowed because the BY mandate was removed. |
| Don't be surprised to see 9/1 across every platform. The leagues and coaches were already complaining about having to do more work to accommodate the change, now that it seems official, I can't imagine they would want to have 2 different registrations and the work to compete them separate would involve. |
*to keep |
Yeah, one problem is if you do school year for U8-U12 (which apparently everyone will be doing now), it is pretty challenging to then move to BY for U13-U19. |
depends. they are busy begging lower level clubs to come join them right now. |
One of many, I think the writing is on the wall at this point. |
| What writing? |
